The TriTel payphone has been operating in the USA for many years and is now operating throughout the world, on every continent. It has proven itself over a long period to be the most vandal resistant payphone available.

TriTel payphones are manufactured in the USA and utilize the standard Western American case. The case is made of hardened steel with a stainless steel safe door. The coin safe requires two keys to access and is fitted with high quality locks. Handsets are manufactured from strong ABS plastic with a stainless steel cord cover and strain relief lanyard.

The TriTel payphone accepts the following forms of payment: 

 

     

  • Coins - All Australian coins are accepted in the TriTel payphone. Many payphones don’t accept either the 5-cent coin or the $2 coin.

  • Credit Card - The TriTel standard payphone accepts credit card payment. This feature is not available from the incumbent's standard payphone.

  • TriTel Smart Phonecard - These are pre-paid cards that are inserted into the payphone and the call cost is deducted from the value contained in the Smart chip.

  • 1800 Calls - Calls to 1800 Reverse, TriTel Service Difficulties and '000' emergency are free.  There is a charge of 50cents per call when accessing any other1800 numbers dialed from a TriTel payphone.

 

As well as these payment methods, the TriTel payphone offers the following features as standard:

 

     

  • Instructions in five languages

  • Volume control

  • Follow on call facility

  • Redial facility

  • Hearing aid coupler

  • Volume control

  • Long handset cord

  • Call cost displayed for every call - (e.g. when calling an STD number, the user dials the number and the display shows insert 50 cents. This tells the caller the rate per minute)
